This is the sound of "dog laughter". Yes, there is science to help us recognize that those high pitched squeals and seemingly silent pants (which aren't silent, but beyond our level are hearing) are a form of laughter shared between dogs who enjoy each other's company.

Most common behavior problems occur when young dogs are given too much freedom too soon! Lack of supervision causes bored dogs to seek their own outlet for oral satisfaction. Age appropriate exercise also helps dogs relax. Leave It & Trade should also be practiced.
